Nilagang Baka | Beef Bone Stew Ingredients
- 1kg beef shanks and tendons (cut into serving size/chunks)
- Water
- 1 small onion (peeled, diced)
- Black pepper corns
- 2 to 3 pcs Banana (Saba) (cut into half)
- 2 pcs Sweet Corn (cut into 2-3)
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 2 medium potatoes (peeled, quartered)
- 1 small cabbage (quartered)
- 8 to 10 green/baguio beans
- Salt
Nilagang Baka | Beef Bone Stew Procedure
- Bring water to a boil
- Add beef shanks and tendons
- Remove scum
- Add onions, black pepper corns, fish sauce, and salt
- Lower the heat, cover and cook until the beef is tender (around 2-3 hours). Add water as needed
- Add potatoes, and banana and cook for 4 minutes
- Add green/baguio beans and cabbage and cook for another 3 minutes or until the vegetables are half cooked
- Season with salt and fish sauce until desired
- Serve hot with rice and fish sauce with sliced red chili labuyo
