Easy Chicken Tinola Filipino Recipe | Easy Chiken Ginger Soup Filipino Recipe

Tinola also known as Chicken soup with Ginger is a Filipino dish and is favored by every Filipino family. The taste of tinola is like no other, it’s light, gingery, and very comforting especially in the colder days.

Chicken Tinola | Chicken Ginger Soup Ingredients
·         1kg Chicken Thigh, Legs, and bones, cut into serving slices. Supermarkets now have “Tinola Cut”
·         2 pcs thumb-sized Ginger (Pounded and cut into thin strips)
·         1 pc small green papaya or Chayote (cut into serving slices)
·         1 bundle of Chili Leaves
·         3 cloves of garlic (minced)
·         1 onion (quartered)
·         Fish Sauce
·         Salt
 Chicken Tinola | Chicken Ginger Soup Procedure
1.    Saute garlic, onion, and ginger.
2.    Add the chicken parts on both sides until light brown (not fried)
3.    Add fish sauce and mix for few seconds
4.    Add water
5.    Bring to a boil and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until chicken is cooked
6.    Add the papaya until medium-cooked
7.    Add salt and fish sauce as necessary
8.    Add the Chili Leaves and turn off the heat
9.    Let it rest for around 5 minutes
10.  Serve with hot rice and an optional fish sauce with chopped red chili for your “sawsawan”/dip
11.  Enjoy!
